International Social Entrepreneurship


Ashoka funds social entrepreneurs in developing countries.  Founder and CEO is Bill Drayton, is a former McKinsey consultant.  Ashoka is based in Washington, DC. We've developed a recruiting relationship with Ashoka, and we will be facilitating introductions later in the year.  IPS 2012 alum Beijing Zhu is working there as an Ashoka A*Year Fellow. 

Schwab Foundation

Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship funds social entrepreneurs in developing countries.  Founder is Klaus Schwab also founded the World Economic Forum.  Based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Skoll Foundation

Skoll Foundation funds social entrepreneurs in developing countries.  Founder is Jeff Skoll, founding CEO of eBay and Stanford GSB alum.  Based in Palo Alto. Skoll will begin publishing a new newsletter this autumn with opportunities in social entrepreneurship.  Subscribe through the website. Skoll Foundation also sponsors an annual conference with the Said Business School at Oxford. also lists internships, jobs, and volunteer opportunities in social entrepreneurship.


Idealist is a clearinghouse for people interested in changing the world.  Jobs and internships are listed.

Global Philanthropy Forum

Global Philanthropy Forum is an association of donors interested in international giving, including major foundations like Hewlett, Packard, Gates, Rockefeller, as well as the IFC.  Managed by the World Affairs Council in San Francisco. They host an annual conference with well-known players in the field.  Conference agendas and videos are available on the website.
